The back of the cozy 4-star boutique hotel is nestled against a forest, whose wonderful hiking trails lead over the Schusterkate border crossing to Kollund in Denmark.

The Hotel Wassersleben dates back to the 18th century. Go on an exploration tour of the house - the creaking floorboards, winding corridors and rooms with their unique sea views are individually designed and all offer a special home. Here you will find many spaces where you can enjoy life by the sea. Our lounge with its wonderful panoramic windows, for example, invites you to relax during the day or in the evening.

A bath for the senses

The hotel's unique location makes it possible to walk to the beach through the front door and into the forest through the back exit. Here you can enjoy another leisure activity (without any instructions or equipment): “forest bathing” – a bath for the senses, without any swimming trunks and without getting wet. A walk in the forest is known to increase well-being - try it out and “bathe” in a different way!

Eicke Steinort is not only a hotelier, but also a well-traveled and award-winning chef who, among other things, worked on the team of 3-star icon Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester in London. Here at Wassersleben 4, Steinort has now developed a surprisingly casual, contemporary and perfectly coordinated concept based on all his experiences and impressions, in which cosiness, conviviality and taste are the focus.

Location & surroundings

The Far North

Flensburg is only 8 km from Wassersleben. The lively port city is characterized by a mix of cultures. Germans and Danes are equally at home here. The longest shopping mile in Schleswig-Holstein offers an experience with numerous owner-managed specialist shops and modern chain stores. Many historical buildings and what was once Flensburg's most sinful mile, the Oluf-Samsons-Gang with its picturesque fishermen's houses, invite you to visit Lustwandeln ein. Im Flensburger Hafen kann man Seefahrt – auch auf restaurierten Schiffen in der lebendigen Museumswerft – hautnah erleben. Wasseraffine fühlen sich auf der Flensburger Förde wohl. Nördlich von Wassersleben liegt in nur 900 m Entfernung eine kleine Brücke über dem Fluss Krusau, die Schleswig-Holstein mit Dänemark verbindet und den westlichsten Punkt der Ostsee markiert. In rund 30 km Radius liegen drei Golfplätze auf schleswig-holsteinischem Boden und zwei in Dänemark. Radler haben die Qual der Wahl zwischen dem dänischen Ostseeradweg (Gesamtdistanz 800 km) und dem deutschen Ostseeküsten-Radweg (Gesamtdistanz 452 km) oder dem Ochsenweg, der von Wedel 504 km durch das Hinterland über Flensburg bis in die grüne Mitte Dänemarks führt.

In 2020, the lido received a new, barrier-free promenade with a cycle path and relaxation furniture for sunny moments. On the approximately 600 m long beach monitored by the DLRG, a children's playground, beach volleyball field and beach soccer goals as well as a SUP school ensure fun for the young and the young at heart. There is a café in the pavilion, which is run by hotelier Eicke Steinort. Large parts of Wassersleben are now part of the Landschaftsschutzgebiet Kluesrieser Gehölz.
